JOB SUMMARY

Virtualization and Storage Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization’s virtual infrastructure, including virtual machines, and storage systems, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and data protection by configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting both virtualization platforms like VMware and storage devices like SANs and NAS, often collaborating with other IT teams to implement and maintain data backup and recovery strategies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR VIRTUALIZATION AND STORAGE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing virtual environments and storage systems.

OPERATIONAL SKILLS:

• Experience with system administration tasks like user management, permissions, and patching
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

SECURITY KNOWLEDGE:

• Understanding of common vulnerabilities and exploits
• Awareness of security best practices for patch management

PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:

• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to patch deployment
• Capability to analyze patch impacts and mitigate potential risks

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Clear communication with stakeholders regarding patch updates and potential disruptions
• Ability to effectively document patch management procedures
  This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• CompTIA Storage+
• Vendor specific storage certifications (NetApp)
