POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Economics at Trinity College invites applications for a two-year visiting assistant professor beginning September 2025, with Ph.D. completed by August 2025, but ABD will be considered.
Trinity is a highly selective, independent, nonsectarian liberal arts institution located in the capital city of Hartford, Connecticut. The college maintains a rigorous academic profile complemented by a vibrant co-curricular program. With more than 2,100 full-time undergraduate students, representing forty-three states and ninety-one countries, we consider our location in a culturally and socioeconomically diverse capital city to be among Trinity’s most distinctive assets; and we cultivate strong connections with our surrounding neighbors and with institutions and organizations throughout Hartford and the region. As a preeminent liberal arts college in an urban setting, Trinity College prepares students to be bold, independent thinkers who lead transformative lives.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. In particular, applicants who require the H-1B visa cannot be considered, and applicants who require sponsorship for visas other than the H-1B visa will be required to pay all costs associated with visa applications.
We seek a macroeconomist who is committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Teaching duties include elective courses in macroeconomics at the 200 and 300 level, mathematical economics, and possibly a senior seminar. The teaching load is five courses per year. A separate teaching statement (including your approach to teaching students from diverse backgrounds) should address teaching philosophy and areas of teaching interest. Completed applications, including cover letter, CV, one letter of recommendation, teaching statement, a writing sample, and official summaries of teaching evaluations must be received for priority evaluation by May 13, 2025 online to receive full consideration but will continue until filled. Virtual interviews will be conducted in May. Contact: Christopher Hoag, Search Committee Chair, at Christopher.Hoag@trincoll.edu.
