SYDNEY LOCAL HEALTH DISTRICT (SLHD) IS SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED VISITING MEDICAL OFFICER TO JOIN OUR TEAM AT ROYAL PRINCE ALFRED HOSPITAL

We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery (Arthroplasty and Sarcoma)! The primary purpose of the role of Visiting Medical Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services within the Orthopaedic Department, specifically within hip and knee arthroplasty and bone and soft tissue sarcoma, and to contribute and participate in academic activities such as research, teaching and administration within the Orthopaedic Department and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) as required.
The Visiting Medical Officer in this position will be required to support a regular Outpatients Clinic and to participate on the on-call roster. Other requirements include teaching of medical students, junior and senior resident medical officers and unaccredited trainees and training registrars.
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) with recognised qualifications in Orthopaedic Surgery and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
