Description
The primary responsibilities: 1. High temperature recrystallization studies of Austenitic Stainless Steels used in small nuclear reactors. These studies include: 1.1 Knowledge of the operation of a Gleeble High Temperature Deformation system. 1.2 Understanding of the deformation-recrystallization behavior (dynamic versus static) of steels. 1.3 Advanced microstructural analysis after deformation. 1.4 Construction of 3-D models of recrystallization-strain and deformation temperatures 2. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Sample preparation from extraction replicas to thin foils to study the presence and characteristics of precipitates on Austenitic Stainless Steels, Advanced High Strength Steels and HSLA steels used in the oil and gas industries. 3. Crystallographic Texture. Will perform annealing studies of the new generation of electrical steels, including the evaluation of texture development. Required qualifications. Master’s degree in Materials Science and expertise in TEM, SEM, EBSD-IQ, XR, D, and Crystallographic Texture. In addition, they should be able to use Thermal-Calc and J-Mat Pro. Expertise in High Temperature deformation, special heat treatments (grain coarsening, continuous and discontinuous cooling, and isothermal treatments. Expertise in the analysis and optimization of microstructure-property relations in modern steel systems.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include conducting high temperature recrystallization studies of Austenitic Stainless Steels and performing advanced microstructural analysis. Additionally, the role involves sample preparation for Transmission Electron Microscopy and evaluating crystallographic texture in electrical steels.
