EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in business administration, marketing, recreation, leisure studies, tourism or other discipline relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE
- Recent* and significant** experience managing financial and human resources. Includes experience in directly supervising staff, leading teams, managing their performance, managing budgets and forecasting.
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external clients, local communities, partners†, stakeholders††, contractors or vendors to achieve operational goals.
- Coordinating and monitoring daily operational activities, contracted work, including issue analysis and problem solving.
- Providing advice and guidance to senior managers and staff.
- Recent is defined as performing the duties within approximately the last two (2) years.
** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.

KNOWLEDGE
- The Parks Canada Agency and its mandate, strategic direction, legislation and policies; and acts, regulations, and policies related to visitor experience such as hot springs, entry gates, and visitor reception centers.
- British Columbia Health regulations, BC Guidelines for Pool Operations, and Lifesaving Society safety standards and pool and/or hot springs best practices.
- Current and emerging trends that relate to the delivery of visitor experience services, facilities operation, and visitor use management.
ABILITIES
- Managing Resources and Leadership – manage resources (time, financial, human, physical and information) to achieve planned goals and lead teams.
- Analytical Thinking – analyze issues and opportunities to develop creative solutions and operational plans.
- Planning and Organizing – prioritize effectively, organize work with competing priorities and/or in a complex environment.
- Organizing and maintaining peer networks, client relationships, Indigenous relationships, partners and other collaborative arrangements.
- Planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating activities, programs, and services consistent with national and provincial standards, practices, local realities, and evolving visitor demand.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Recent* and significant** experience planning and managing a pool and/or hot springs services and operations related to the provision of high-quality visitor experience.
- Experience in determining visitor services requirements and developing and implementing plans based on visitor trends, data, and use management issues, including evaluating program/project effectiveness.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and personal safety equipment.
- Willingness to travel and/or work in a variety of weather conditions for extended periods of time.
- Willingness to work weekends, statutory holidays and irregular hours.
