Description
We are looking for a High School Visual Arts Teacher, with the possibility of taking on the Head of Department (HOD) role for suitably experienced candidates, for a bilingual school based in Beijing. This position is available from the upcoming 2026/27 academic year in August, 2026 About the school Private school based in Beijing. It is among the first schools in China authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). Offering boarding and day school facilities, it caters to students in primary, middle, and high school levels, encompassing both local and international students. With a diverse community of over 500 staff from various countries and regions, the institution presently houses 75 classes and more than 2,000 students, including 300 students and 60 staff in the Primary School department. Job responsibilities Teach the subject of Visual Arts to high school students utilizing IB framework and ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experience Preparing lessons and lectures, tutoring techniques, designing and correcting assessments, and writing report comments Collaboratively teach alongside fellow educators, actively contributing to the development and enhancement of the school's curriculum Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so that all learners can succeed and improve Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents and caregivers Develop supportive and safe learning environments For candidates appointed as HOD: provide academic leadership for the Visual Arts department, including curriculum planning, supporting whole-school arts initiatives, and mentoring colleagues within the department Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred Experience in a secondary or high school Visual Arts classroom Valid teaching certificate or proof of qualified teacher status Experience working in a bilingual or international school setting preferred Prior leadership experience or evidence of capacity for middle leadership is an advantage for the HOD role Salary and benefits Monthly salary range of 30,000 to 40,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications Monthly housing allowance of up to 10,000 RMB Annual round-trip airfare home up to 8,000 RMB International health insurance Free education for dependent children Free breakfast and lunch Residence and work permit sponsored For suitably qualified candidates: additional leadership stipend and Head of Department (HOD) title for leading the Visual Arts department
