We are looking for a creative and detail-driven Visual Merchandiser to design and implement merchandising concepts that improve the in-store customer experience. This role involves collaborating with merchants to transform product details into eye-catching visual displays. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, working directly with fixtures and displays, conducting design tests at the Innovation Centre, and traveling to various retail sites for branding insights and market analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visual Merchandising & Design:
  • Collaborate with merchants to gather product information and create merchandising designs.
  • Make design decisions based on display requirements such as size, weight, and durability.
  • Test and adjust designs at the Innovation Centre before finalizing and handing them over to the Space Planning team.
  • Use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to develop display concepts.
  • Design visually appealing store displays that align with the brand and improve the customer shopping experience.
  • Develop and implement seasonal, promotional, and category-specific visual merchandising strategies.
  • Ensure consistency in the execution of visual merchandising across various store locations.
  • Coordinate the installation and removal of visual displays, ensuring accurate execution of plans.
  • Monitor the success of visual displays and adjust designs as needed.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor strategies to keep displays current and creative.
  • Travel & Onsite Requirements:
  • Regular travel to retail locations is required—personal vehicle necessary (public transit is not sufficient for accessing various locations).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Visual Merchandising, Graphic Design, Retail Design, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in visual merchandising, retail display design, or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop for design work.
  • Practical experience working with store fixtures, displays, and in-store branding.
  • Excellent design thinking and problem-solving abilities to create impactful visual experiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel frequently to different retail locations and competitor sites—valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required.
  • Ability to lift and assemble displays when necessary.
  • Knowledge of retail branding and marketing trends.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present merchandising strategies to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in home improvement, retail, or big-box store settings.
  • Understanding of store branding, retail marketing trends, and customer shopping behavior.
