Visuals Researcher, Beijing Bureau Reuters is looking for an energetic Visuals Researcher with strong news judgement to join our team in Beijing. The Visuals Researcher will be responsible for researching and monitoring news stories, assist news coverage on the field and learn the ropes of pix and video news production. We are looking for a researcher who has excellent news judgement, understands what makes a compelling visuals-led story for Reuters, is a great team player and is adept with research that can inform breaking news to longer-form pieces. About the Role In this opportunity as Visuals Researcher, Beijing Bureau, you will: Conduct in-depth research to conceptualise story ideas that can be developed into deeply reported and nuanced visuals-led stories. Monitor and highlight daily news coverage on Chinese media and social media. Work closely with the Reuters bureau, contributing to breaking news coverage, contacting potential interviewees and help sourcing third-party content when required. Collaborate with colleagues across Reuters operations in China, including bureaux in Shanghai and Shenzhen. Assist in accreditation and logistics as needed. About You You’re a fit for the role of Visuals Researcher, Beijing Bureau if you have the following required qualifications: Fluent English and Mandarin – written and oral. A track record of being an organised team player. The ability to remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Are prepared to work with the visuals and text teams in the field when required.
