Job Description Link Solutions Inc. is seeking a VMware Systems Administrator (Intermediate-Level) to join our team in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Must be a U.S. Citizen Active DoD Security Clearance Non-remote (relocation incentive available) Mid-Shift (details below) The VMware Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing VMware-based systems, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security across secure networks. Your duties will include delivering mission-critical support, managing virtual infrastructure, troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement upgrades, patches, and security enhancements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, along with a strong understanding of system administration in secure or classified environments. Familiarity with DoD IT standards and compliance frameworks such as STIGs and RMF is highly valued. Job Responsibilities: Perform backups, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure. Design, plan, implement, and administer enterprise blade server and storage technologies in support of virtualization infrastructure. Monitor and troubleshoot system performance within the VMware environment. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to hosted tenants. Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members. Install, configure, and integrate servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure. Build highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment. Build and configure virtual networks. Assist with the coordination and implementation of hardware maintenance, upgrades, repairs, or replacements, supporting the virtualization infrastructure. Provide advice and training to end-users. Administer enterprise VMware-based virtualization infrastructures covering vCenter ESXi environments. Shift/Hours Information: Mid Shift Sunday - Wednesday 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.). Two (2+) years of relevant experience or an AA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts. Experience with Cisco FlexPod, VMware (or equivalent virtualization technologies), or Network Attached Storage systems. Current Computing Environment (CE) certification (required within 90 days of performance start date). Preferred: IAT Level III Certification equivalent per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, etc.). Experience providing quality service and support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users. Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
