First Rung is a leading north London independent learning provider with centres in Ponders End (Enfield),] and Colindale (Barnet). We are looking for an experienced Trainer to deliver vocational and employability provision to learners on our Study Programme and Adult Skills Fu d courses. The post holder will deliver vocational training to Early Years and Health and Social Care learners and employability provision to learners on all courses. Key duties will include:

  • Teaching of accredited and non-accredited Early Years and Health and Social Care courses
  • Delivery of sector-based work orientation and employability support to learners on the Early Years, Health and Social Care and Teaching Assistant Pathway programmes.
  • Delivery of employability training and personal and social development modules
  • Developing and updating course curriculums, schemes of work, session plans and resources as required
  • Marking learner work and overseeing portfolio completion
  • Providing feedback to learners
  • Target setting and tracking learner progress
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to optimise learner progress and achievement

.We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic tutor with excellent teaching skills who has substantial experience of teaching Early Years, Health and Social Care and Employability provision. Excellent teaching skills and the ability to work effectively with both young people and adults is essential. So too is the ability to work collaboratively with other staff teams in supporting learner progress.
As a minimum, candidates must hold a full teaching qualification such as a PGCE, DTLLs or Cert Ed and be occupationally qualified to teach Early Years and Health and Social Care. Possession of the Assessor award is also required. .
The role will involve travel to both of First Rung’s centres so possession of a car and full, clean driving licence would be helpful.
