QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in vocational services, preferably within an OPWDD-funded program.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or program management experience.
• Strong knowledge of OPWDD guidelines, vocational rehabilitation best practices, and person-centered planning.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in documentation and compliance management.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working with neurodivergent adults or individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Familiarity with supported/ prevocational employment, job coaching, and community-based vocational training models.
• Experience with Medicaid Waiver services and billing practices

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to move frequently between offices, classrooms, training areas, or community job sites.
• May involve walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods.
• Occasionally assist with or demonstrate basic vocational tasks (e.g., assembling items, sorting, using simple tools).
• Light lifting may be required (up to 25 lbs.),
• Clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills are essential to adapt to varied communication styles of neurodivergent adults.
• May need to use visual supports or assistive communication tools.
• Ability to model calm behavior and use sensory-regulation techniques when needed.

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

The Vocational Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing vocational programs for neurodivergent adults in alignment with OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) standards and guidelines. This role ensures that vocational programming is participant-centered, compliance-driven, and outcome-focused, supporting individuals in gaining meaningful employment and vocational experiences. The Vocational Supervisor will lead staff, manage participant progress, ensure regulatory compliance, and report directly to the Director of the Center.

ESSENETIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Program Development & Oversight
• Design, launch, and manage vocational programs tailored to the strengths and needs of neurodivergent adults.
• Ensure vocational programming aligns with OPWDD standards and person-centered planning.
• Maintain and develop community partnerships and employment opportunities for participants.
• Staff Supervision & Development
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate vocational staff.
• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and professional development to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
• Participant Services
• Oversee the vocational assessment, planning, and progress tracking for all participants.
• Ensure the integration of vocational goals into each individual’s service plan.
• Support participants in achieving greater independence, workplace readiness, and employment success.
• Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure program compliance with OPWDD regulations and other relevant standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service records, reports, and audits.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and the Director to implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with the Director of the Center, families and community partners.
• Represent the program at internal and external meetings.
• Participate in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives
