WHO WE ARE SUPPORTING

The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO’s member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO’s communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
  • Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO’s military commanders to plan and execute operations.
  • Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
  • Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO’s mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
  • Information Management: The NCIA manages NATO’s information technology infrastructure, including its databases, applications, and servers.

Overall, the NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO’s communication and information technology capabilities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in the technical administration of POLYCOM systems
  • Strong knowledge of various AV equipment, including codecs, mixers, media converters, projectors, and their interconnections
  • Experience in setting up conference rooms and configuring network connections
  • Basic understanding of LAN switches and local cabling infrastructure (e.g., fiber optic cables, media converters, LAN testing equipment)
  • Basic understanding of IP-TV technologies.
  • Foundational knowledge of AV technologies, including audio protocols like Dante and voice compression
  • Strong teamwork skills and proficiency in English (STANAG 3-3-3)
Responsibilities

ROLE BACKGROUND

NCI Agency CIS Support Unit (CSU) Brunssum, located in Brunssum (NLD) enables end-to-end CIS services as it installs, operates, maintains and supports the full range of CIS capabilities during peacetime, crisis and war throughout its allocated Area of Responsibility (AOR) and as otherwise directed. Due to increasing NATO exercise activity, CSU Brunssum is seeking technical service support for Local Audio/ Video Service. These services correspond to local audio visual support that is not part of a standard service offering in the CCSC. In this regard, services include technical service contracts, audio/ visual maintenance of projection systems, large screen displays and execution of the TV maintenance contract.

ROLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • D01 - Incident Management
  • Respond on every Incident, Task and/ or Work Order for standard VTC conference rooms
  • Respond on all related Incidents, Work Orders and Tasks for specific, High Operational areas
  • Respond on all related Incidents, Work Orders and Tasks for IPTV system related failures
  • Cooperate with the second and third level of support (NCIA Internal resolver groups and external Providers)
  • D02 - Proactive Monitoring of functionality
  • Check all AV critical functionality in high Operational Areas
  • D03 - Request Management
  • Support to IPTV configuration request
  • Support user request with Multicast streaming
  • On demand, reconfigure channels on streamers Support the AV equipment located outside Conference rooms like office, meeting rooms etc.
  • D04 - Receiving Goods
  • Assist CSU Storekeeper with transportation from Central Warehouse to CSU Facility
  • D05 - Asset Handling
  • Complete any asset handling and registration documents in accordance with NATO directives
