Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Development, the Volunteer and Food Drive Manager is responsible for the overall administration and management of volunteer programs and community food and fund drives. Essential Functions: Food & Fund Drive Management Oversee the logistics involving food and fund drives with a focus on growth in food donations. Manage at least one community food drive per quarter with a focus of increasing food donations over previous years. (e.g. Tackle Hunger, Shop Out Hunger, Canstruction Event). Support fund drives by helping donors maximize their efforts on behalf of OFS. Coordinate pickup and delivery logistics with OFS Operations team and donors, recording all food donations in the appropriate platforms. Volunteer Program Management Serve as direct supervisor of the the Volunteer Coordinator Lead all aspects of volunteer recruitment, onboarding, orientation, tracking, and evaluation. Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service. Maintain an accessible internal calendar of volunteer activities. Ensure volunteers are effectively placed to support various OFS programs, including warehouse, nutrition education, out-of-school meals, special events, development, and general administration. Collaborate with OFS staff to assess and fill volunteer needs. Create specialized events, such as family volunteer nights or themed service days, to engage new volunteers. Develop age-appropriate volunteer tasks that are both educational and impactful. Oversee the use and operations of the OFS Volunteer Center. In collaboration with senior leaders, create annual financial program budget and administer program within the annual financial budget. Volunteer Recognition & Retention Plan and manage an annual Volunteer Recognition Event to celebrate contributions and encourage long-term engagement. Implement recognition strategies to highlight volunteer impact throughout the year. Foster a culture of appreciation through consistent acknowledgment of volunteers’ efforts. Community Engagement Represent Operation Food Search as a speaker, presenter, or representative at networking events, volunteer fairs, United Way rallies, corporate engagements and community organizations. Identify and participate in relevant community events to promote volunteer and internship opportunities. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote volunteer opportunities via social media and community outreach. Reporting Gather feedback from volunteers to continuously improve engagement strategies. Conduct surveys with Volunteer Groups and Food Drive participants; use insights to refine programs. Generate reports from operational databases for internal and external stakeholders as needed. Requirements Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 3-5 years of experience, ideally in a non-profit or community-oriented setting Experience supervising and leading volunteers in a fast-paced setting Fundraising experience is a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Passion for the OFS mission Experience building strong relationships both internally and externally Ability to connect with diverse types of organizations: schools, businesses, government, faith organizations, etc. Strong computer skills with MS Office: Word, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to learn new database systems, including Donor Perfect and Galaxy Strong judge of character Public speaking/facilitation skills Conflict management skills Detail-oriented, organized, and the ability to multi-task Ability to work both independently and as a member of a larger staff team Knowledge of volunteerism and volunteer management best practices Existing knowledge and experience with Galaxy and Donor Perfect Special Requirements: Occasional travel required for meetings, events, and conferences Flexibility in working hours for occasional special events after-hours or weekend activities Willingness to volunteer for other OFS duties that don’t fall under regular job duties Working Conditions and Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, both indoors and outdoors Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
