Responsibilities

· Volunteer Coordination. You will evaluate and make recommendations to improve the volunteer program at WindReach Farm. You will design a plan to recruit enough volunteers to meet the Farm’s day-to-day needs, including a succession plan to replace volunteers as they ‘retire.’ You will overhaul the volunteer training program to ensure that all new volunteers receive an initial orientation and training, as well as follow-up training, as needed. You will plan and execute volunteer recognition initiatives to ensure that volunteers know how valued and appreciated they are, and how critical they are to the Farm’s ongoing operation and success. You will work with program leads and other staff to evaluate their volunteer needs, assisting them with creating/updating volunteer job descriptions. You will provide support to program leads and other staff in working with, and providing direction to, volunteers. You will research and make recommendations to the Executive Director on an efficient and user-friendly volunteer scheduling system. You will build relationships with existing and new volunteers and establish a consistent system for volunteer communication.
· Visitor Program Coordination. You will build relationships with returning visitor groups and recruit new visitor groups to the Farm. You will consult with these groups to ensure that activities are planned that meet their needs and abilities and keep visits engaging for repeat visitors. You will stay current and informed of what other similar organizations are offering and adjust the visitor program as needed to stay current. You will recruit, train, and schedule staff and volunteer day visit guides. You will conduct evaluations of, and provide feedback to, day visit guides to ensure that all visitors receive a consistent experience.
· Supervision and Personnel Development. You will oversee all WindReach Farm volunteers. You will evaluate the performance of volunteers and provide training and re-training opportunities, as appropriate. You will recruit, train and supervise summer Visitor program staff. You will work with them to set goals, provide guidance and evaluate their performance throughout the summer, providing ongoing feedback.
· Administration and Financial Management. You will work with the Executive Director to set revenue targets and visitor program fees. You will be responsible for keeping the Volunteer and Visitor Programs on, or ahead of, budget. You will track data on the volunteer recruitment, retention, and attrition, as well as day visit numbers, types of groups, and repeat visits. You will prepare reports as requested by the Executive Director. You will work with the Manager, Finance and Business Support to ensure all visiting groups are invoiced in a timely, professional, and consistent manner. You will ensure privacy of personal information pertaining to volunteers and visitors.
