ABOUT US:

Rabbit Runaway Orphanage is a non-profit, volunteer-run animal rescue dedicated to the health, safety, and rehoming of abandoned and neglected domestic rabbits. Every bunny in our care receives love, medical attention, and the opportunity to find a forever home — but we can’t do it without you.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Aged 18 or over
• Be reliable and dedicated
• Able to travel to Olinda, Victoria
• Able to commit to a regular weekly or fortnightly morning shift (approx. 4 hours, starting at 8:30am. We can accommodate start time for school dropoffs)
• Responsible, mature, and reliable
• Comfortable with light lifting and bending
• Vigilant about cleanliness and following protocols
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, dedicated team

THE ROLE:

As a Volunteer Shelter Attendant, your main focus will be on cleaning and maintaining the indoor rabbit enclosures and ensuring the shelter environment remains clean, tidy and welcoming. You’ll also keep an eye on the general well-being of our bunnies and help create a calm, caring atmosphere they can thrive in.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean and sanitise rabbit enclosures and shelter areas (indoor and external)
• Monitor the general health and behaviour of the rabbits
• Support the team in ensuring a safe, clean, and organised space for both rabbits and volunteers
