Description:
Position: Volunteer - Art Instructor for Children
Job Classification: Volunteer
Location: 3660 Midland Avenue, Unit 500, Scarborough, ON M1J 2H7
Terms: On average 1.5 hours per week, minimum commitment of 2 months
Thursday from 3:30pm-5:00pm
QUALIFICATIONS
- Skills and experience in leading arts and crafts programs for children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and issues facing young children, specifically newcomers to Canada
- Punctual and responsible
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Responsibilities:
- Deliver art lessons for newcomer children using a variety of art mediums
- Coordinate lesson plans with Polycultural’s Youth Facilitator in advance
- Assess the abilities and interests of children and adjust programming as needed
- Encourage participants and act as a positive role model
- Assist with program preparation and clean up
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy
