About the Position
Management of a small team responsible for the attraction, engagement, and support of volunteers, community employment (CE) participants, student placements, and graduates. With responsibility for the adminstrative management of the associated projects line with Dublin Simon Rolling Strategy. A key role in the HR Management Team reporting to the Senior HR Manager.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage existing and develop future Full and Part-Time Volunteer Programmes, CE Projects, and Student Placement Programme in line with the organisational requirements and best practice.
  • Promotion of the projects to raise awareness and attraction of to create a pipeline for each project.
  • Recruitment of volunteers/participants/students aligned with organisational needs.
  • Coordination and oversight of mentoring, coaching, and learner plans, ensuring have a meaningful placement and they are given the skills and support to deal with placement requirements.
  • Management of the projects with a view to creation of employee pipeline for the organisaiton and positive progression for the volunteers/participants/students
  • Build and maintain effective key strategic relationships (Government departments, third level institutions, corporate relationships and EU partnerships) to enhance and develop how we attract, train and retain student placements, volunteers, CE participants and graduates.
  • Maintain the required standards to meet the needs -European Solidarity Corps Quality label.
  • Apply and retain Investing in Volunteering Quality Standard
  • Manage the TUDublin Volunteer programme (Level 6, Third level qualification ‘Certificate of Professional Development in Volunteering’) for Dublin, Cork and Galway Simon Communities.
  • Management and day-to-day operation of volunteer accommodation with the support of the Finance and Property functions.
  • Design and deliver recognition events and social activities in a planned calendar of activities.
  • Manage and develop the Team, ensuring they are supported in achieving their objectives, annual plans, and continued professional development.
  • Funding applications and reporting.
  • Projects compliance with all statutory, funding, and organisational requirements.Programmes management and administration including but not limited to: monthly stats; update reports, budget planning and overview, office management.

  • Third level qualification to degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of volunteering.
