EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary education in administration, or a related field is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Proof of flu shots, two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, a tuberculosis (TB) test, a criminal record check, and a Vulnerable Sector Screening.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination, community programming, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining records and databases.
  • Experience working with diverse community groups and organizations.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Flexibility and sensitivity to changing needs of residents and programs.

    Base Salary: $21.00-$24.00+ per hour.
Responsibilities

The key job functions are:

  • Recruit volunteers from diverse sources such as families, schools, community groups, and places of worship.
  • Screen applicants through interviews, reference checks, and security clearances.
  • Place volunteers in appropriate roles and ensure successful onboarding.
  • Develop, implement, and update volunteer orientation and training programs.
  • Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition for volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and volunteer program budgets.
  • Collaborate with staff and community partners to create meaningful educational opportunities.
  • Promote volunteering through community and corporate partnerships.
  • Organize and evaluate annual volunteer appreciation events.
  • Support organizational quality improvement programs by tracking and resolving issues.
