WHAT WILL I DO AS THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR?

Volunteers are at the heart of Catholic Charities’ mission. We are seeking an energetic and organized Volunteer Coordinator to lead and expand our thriving volunteer program—managing the coordination, orientation, and engagement of over 120 active volunteers at any given time. This role is perfect for someone passionate about connecting people with meaningful opportunities to serve the most vulnerable in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment, placement, and onboarding process for volunteers and interns, in collaboration with Program Directors, local schools, parishes, and community organizations.
  • Plan and conduct regular orientation and training sessions to ensure volunteers are well-prepared, informed, and empowered in their roles.
  • Cultivate a positive and rewarding volunteer experience through consistent communication, appreciation efforts, and engagement initiatives such as surveys, newsletters, and impact reports.
  • Serve as a key liaison between volunteers and program teams, ensuring alignment between volunteer strengths and program needs.
  • Manage and maintain the volunteer database, accurately tracking hours, assignments, and impact metrics.
  • Continuously evaluate and grow the volunteer program to support evolving agency initiatives and client needs.

Salary: $43,000 - $46,000 DOE

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or similar field
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination, recruitment, or community outreach
  • Travel is required. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and minimum liability insurance on vehicle are all required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player with a passion for developing and maintaining strong relationships.
