Description Sangre de Cristo Community Care is seeking a compassionate, organized, and self-motivated Part Time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our dedicated Canon City team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that hospice patients and their families receive support from well-trained, committed volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, trains, supports, and places volunteers in roles that align with both patient needs and volunteer strengths. Key Responsibilities: Recruit, interview, onboard, and place hospice volunteers in appropriate assignments. Plan and lead volunteer training sessions to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including volunteer files, hours, and assignments. Match volunteers with patients and families based on needs, availability, and compatibility. Provide ongoing support, recognition, and education for volunteers. Coordinate volunteer schedules in collaboration with clinical teams. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning as appropriate. Monitor volunteer satisfaction and performance through regular check-ins and evaluations. Organize volunteer appreciation events and recognition initiatives. Join Us! Experience in volunteer coordination, hospice care, or human services preferred. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management systems. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.
