Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE AND WHERE YOU WILL BE WORKING:

Serving the needs of the Volunteer Service withing our NODA Program (No One Dies Alone), as determined by the Manager. Especially during seasons of extraordinary workload, or specialised work tasks, the incumbent will be called in to assist. It sits within the wider volunteer service of Southern Cross Care WA and is responsible for both general volunteer mobilisation and liaison, as well as NODA mobilisation and liaison.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • To be familiar with the policy, procedures and related documents of the Volunteer Service and the NODA programme.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Pastoral Care & Volunteer Services, to meet the deadlines associated with programme reporting.
  • To be familiar with the technology needed to run the volunteer service and the NODA programme.
  • To relate to the relevant staff at the residential sites, respectfully and accurately, to receive and monitor the requests for NODA volunteers when the resident(s) is deemed by the clinical staff to be end-stage palliative.
  • To assist with the NODA mobilisation process in times of multiple and complex call-outs.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU’LL NEED:

  • Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the Volunteer Service of SCCWA.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with people from a diverse range of social, economic, cultural and religious backgrounds, demonstrating appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Accurate grammar and writing/editing skills.
  • Well-developed telephone technique
