Overview A LifeWise teacher will combine in-depth Bible knowledge and outstanding teaching abilities to share the gospel with churched and unchurched public school students in a classroom setting. Our ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching children. Qualifications and Experience * A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (with students) in either a school or * church setting * A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith [https://lifewise.org/statementoffaith/] * Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith [https://lifewise.org/statementoffaith/] Job Description * Complete Initial and Ongoing Training * Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course prior to teaching * Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit each year * Attend at least one Teachers' Lounge or one LifeWise Meet-Up per year * Stay up to date on training and updates by regularly checking LifeWise email * Teach LifeWise Classes * Utilize the LifeWise curriculum to lesson plan and map out curriculum customization * Implement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroom * Invest in connecting with students through building relationships and praying for them regularly * Cultivate an organized, encouraging and engaging classroom environment through various teaching strategies and discipline that is redemptive in nature * Apply LifeWise policies, procedures and resources * Maintain Records * Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise program director and/or school officials as needed * Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns, special needs of students and photo permissions as noted on parent permission slips * Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher as needed * Maintain the Classroom * Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom * Know procedures for dealing with emergency situations * Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by program director * Communicate * Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community * Attend annual school open house and other outreach events as available * Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being * Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes * Submit regular updates, stories and photos to program director * Promote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and beliefs Benefits * Retirement plan, including employer match   LifeWise Academy's hiring practices and EEO Statement are fully in compliance with both federal and state law.
