Wales Air Ambulance delivers advanced lifesaving medical care to people across Wales, 24/7. We are the only air ambulance charity based in and dedicated to the people of Wales and rely entirely on your charitable donations to raise 11.2 million every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.
We have successfully grown our service over the last twenty three years from a single aircraft operating five days a week from a single base in South Wales to the four aircraft 24/7 service model that we have today.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Working alongside colleagues within the Volunteering Team and wider, to proactively recruit volunteers and promote volunteering with priority audiences in across North Wales.
Actively engage with volunteers to ensure retain and motivate volunteers across your region.
Develop, inform and embed the principles and tools of the Volunteering team in your region. Represent the Volunteering and wider charity teams at local engagement events

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify volunteer need within your area, delivering the minimum required number of new volunteers per annum, through own and volunteer resources.


    • Work closely with members of the Volunteering and Income Generation teams to develop an effective plan around priority group types, audiences and locations, raising profile in priority areas.

    • Support the Volunteering team with volunteer recruitment and role development, including interview support, onboarding, induction and ensuring all necessary checks are carried out, in line with Charity procedures.
    • Support recruitment goals by proactively contacting new audiences by a range of methods including telephone and in-person to secure opportunities to deliver talks and workshops opportunities.
    • Develop and harness opportunities to promote volunteering, effectively, through a range of media and channels.
    • Work with colleagues on the development and delivery of corporate volunteering opportunities, building up a network of corporate contacts within North Wales.
    • Communicate with volunteers in your area on a regular basis to ensure volunteer satisfaction and engagement, consistently gathering and feeding in insights supporting the development of the volunteer strategy.
    • Support with the implementation and ongoing management of a volunteer management system.
    • Provide training to volunteers where necessary, increasing skill, competence and confidence of volunteers
    • Deliver face-to-face talks to community groups and schools to extend community engagement.
    • Join local networks of support, such as volunteer centres, libraries, etc.
    • Attend local volunteer group network meetings.
    • Work with the Fundraising and wider charity teams at local engagement events.
    • Demonstrate the charity’s values including being considerate when representing Wales Air Ambulance and always leaving others with a positive view of our organisation and the work that we do
