Position Summary: The main responsibility for this position is to facilitate communication and activities between multiple departments and Distribution Centers (Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Alamosa) and the Sunny Side Market to achieve a high-quality volunteer experience. Coordinates the recruitment, scheduling, stewardship, and recognition of Care and Share’s volunteer program. Duties/Responsibilities: Maintains extensive knowledge of Care and Share's daily operations, programs, and services. Collaborates with department leaders (especially Operations and Development) to ensure adequate volunteer support and resources. Regularly attends departmental meetings to stay abreast of current/upcoming events and priorities in each department. Works with the leadership team to ensure a first-class volunteer engagement experience. Assists with the development of system and structures necessary to maintain the volunteer program. Collaborates with the Development and Marketing team and all department leaders to develop and implement a recruiting strategy. Creates and posts volunteer position openings on multiple platforms. Promptly responds to inquiries from potential volunteers. Plans and participates in volunteer recruitment events. Coordinates with the President and CEO as well as the leadership team to manage volunteer group events and activities. Creates and disseminates weekly volunteer group schedules; sends regular reminders and instructions to groups in anticipation of their visit. Communicates with all parties regarding upcoming volunteer events and tours; provides tours to volunteer groups and individuals as needed. Enlists the appropriate departments to provide suitable recognition, gratitude, and event space. Regularly seeks, receives, and communicates volunteer feedback. Collaborates with the President and CEO and leadership team to resolve issues. Manages the lead volunteer program including the selection, screening, training and recognizing of lead volunteers. Develops, monitors, and maintains the stewardship and recognition plan for the volunteer program to ensure all volunteers have continued and lasting engagement with Care and Share. Monitors and cross-references the donor database with the volunteer management system to identify discrepancies and outreach opportunities. Collaborates with Volunteer Specialists and all department leaders to train volunteers in order to perform the necessary functions required for their unique volunteer role. This includes the initial setup of and troubleshooting issues with the volunteer management system. Maintains the volunteer management system. Ensures volunteers are registered for each shift daily for all locations. Ensures volunteer information is accurate. Reports volunteer impact and recognizes volunteer achievements. Seeks out collaborative community networking events. Represents Care and Share and educates community members about its volunteer program. Builds relationships and arranges strategic partnerships. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Intermediate with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Forms). Advanced with CERVIS or another volunteer engagement software highly preferred. Intermediate with Raiser’s Edge or similar platform preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and trust quickly; must be collaborative. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to resolve conflict and deescalate situations. Excellent communicator and comfortable speaking in front of large groups and answering lots of questions. Must be able to receive and maintain a ServSafe® Food Handler Certification. Education and Experience: At least three years of experience with community outreach, event planning, or recruiting required. At least three years of scheduling experience required. At least one year of experience managing relationships required. Experience working with volunteers preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer and some periods of time walking and standing. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. Travel Requirements: Must possess a valid state issued driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Access to a reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel is preferred. Company vehicles are typically available for work-related travel. Must maintain personal automobile insurance that meets company minimum coverage requirements, if a personal vehicle is used for work-related travel. Frequent travel throughout Southern Colorado is required. The starting wage range for this position is $24.00 to $26.50 per hour.
