Overview Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience for the people we support. You can make a difference. As an Entry into Service/Assessment Volunteer with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be. Responsibilities CGL Manchester Drug & Alcohol Services has an integrated approach to the delivery of substance and alcohol treatment services; we work with clients over the age of 18 and provide a wide range of services and interventions as a means of supporting them in the ongoing recovery journey. Some of the things we offer include Entry Into Service assessments, Recovery groups, Aftercare Programme and non-structured well-being activities. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the CGL Manchester team. The Entry into Service Volunteer will be supporting the team in completing triage assessments to people who are at the beginning of their recovery journey. The role will also involve providing accurate information on undertake various duties which enhance or support the delivery of the service. The role of The Entry into Service Volunteer will be directed and supported by a supervisor, supporting service users to fulfil a recovery focused journey. An important part of the role is listening to people and sharing what you have heard with the service, representing their views, and using their feedback to help inform how we develop and improve our services. You will help to ensure people hear about any decisions or changes that are made because of their feedback. You will be working with Change Grow Live staff and connecting with the wider community. We also expect an assertive approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults, and applicants to these posts will need to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to best safeguarding practice. We are actively recruiting people who can offer us 1 – 3 days per week to work within our drug & alcohol service; we are specifically looking for people who are keen and enthusiastic and would be able to commit to staying as a volunteer with us for up to one year.
