Come grow your career with an award- winning team!   BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES Leads volunteers and provides direction, coordination and consultation for all volunteer functions within the organization. Recruit, manage and build volunteer relationships. Leads the organization and execution of events both internal and external for Community Development. Ensures execution and organization of events positively reflect and build on GECU’s brand and image in the community. Develops and adheres to established programs and budgets for all events. TYPICAL DUTIES Organizes and executes events for Community Development in collaboration with internal departments, and other community organizations. Ensures appropriate number of community volunteers and paid employees are engaged to take care of projected turnout and audience. Compiles giveaways for all Community Development events and other credit union purposes. Works with colleagues to strategically make creative recommendations on giveaways and value proposition that complement the event. Develops, plans, and presents event recommendations, event logistics, and task coordination to Director of Youth Community Programs, to include Financial Literacy events, VITA, and overall community events. Organizes logistics and attends events to include all types of events (i.e. schools, SBOD, Mi Comunidad, GECU locations), from setup to tear-down of every event ensuring adherence to strategy, layouts, checklists, timelines, roles, etc. Requests and schedules Facilities and Security personnel when needed. Constant communication with Director of Youth Community Programs to adhere to strategies and public perception. Develops, obtains approval, and closely follows all budgeting guidelines and approved budgets. Makes recommendations on financial education, VITA, community event opportunities. Makes recommendations on possible new vendors. Responsible for working with vendors, fielding calls from salespeople, accepting deliveries and tracking giveaways inventory. Works with Community Development Coordinator to maintain impact report of all community outreach and volunteer hours. Understands reputation management and brand perception, and is responsible for maintaining and building positive public perception through community events and initiatives. Develops and makes recommendations on performance metrics and how we measure success at each event to determine impact, outcome, and future involvement. Organizes regular storage room maintenance and cleaning with assistance from GECU Community Development Team. Includes indirect supervision to complete tasks in a safe manner. Maintains budget amounts and balances on event budgets. Reconciles monthly AMEX charges and maintains respective annual budgets. Promotes programs and services that meet the needs of the community. Provides support at Mi Comunidad Center events such as after school program, VITA, Food Pantry, ESL Classes, Senior Breakfast and holiday events. Recruits, manages and builds volunteer relationships within the organization and with other organizations within our community. Leads volunteer efforts for our existing VITA Program, Mi Comunidad Center, Community Development events, and other GECU volunteer opportunities. Ensures appropriate number of community volunteers and paid employees are engaged to take care of projected turnout and audience. Responsible for recruitment, tracking, training and appreciation of volunteers. Maintain Volunteer Service Descriptions for each volunteer assignment. Conduct and/or arrange volunteer orientation and training. Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers. Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service. Organize and participate in volunteer recognition programs and special events. Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation. Acts as Volunteer Individual Tax Assistance (VITA) – Basic Tax Law Instructor, Tax preparer and/or Tax Site Coordinator. Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML) addressing Money Laundering and the Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of credit union. Qualifications CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associate Degree or equivalent with 1-3 years of similar or related job experience. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of public perception and community events. High level of quality assurance and attention to detail. Excellent networking, planning, and project management skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Excellent event planning and project management skills. Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers. Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job. Ability to manage multi-task assignments. Good clerical skills and proficient in the use of personal computer and software applications. Knowledge of general office procedures, telephone techniques, copy machine, fax machine, etc. Food Handlers Card required. (Must be able to obtain within 30 days of employment) Requires sitting the majority of the day, lifting up to 35 pounds continuously, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Bending, twisting, reaching above and below shoulder frequently, squatting, climbing and kneeling occasionally. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY Providing quality service is the primary responsibility of this position.
