Volunteer Opportunity: HABIT-ILE Program About HABIT-ILE HABIT-ILE (Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive Training Including Lower Extremity) is a two-week intensive program run by Cerebral Palsy Alliance for children and teens with cerebral palsy. The program focuses on improving bimanual skills and motor functions through engaging, goal-directed therapy. Volunteer Role Volunteers play a vital role in supporting therapy teams and participants. You can volunteer for one week or both—any help is appreciated! For the best outcomes for participants, continuity of volunteers across the program is ideal. Benefits of Volunteering Make a positive contribution to the Cerebral Palsy community Gain hands-on experience working with children and teens with cerebral palsy and similar conditions Develop confidence and build new skills Explore new experiences, make social connections, and support career growth Enjoy a sense of purpose and personal development Program Dates & Times Week 1: 12–16 January 2026, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Week 2: 19–23 January 2026, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Tasks & Responsibilities Contribute to an engaging, goal-oriented, strength-based group environment Support kids 1:1 to engage in goal-directed therapy Assist with activity setup and pack down Note: Volunteers do not assist with direct care duties (e.g., mealtime assistance, personal care, lifting, medication, or transport) unless training has been provided You will be supervised by an Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist Role Requirements Age 16+ NDIS Worker Screening Working With Children Check (NSW) Working With Vulnerable People Check (ACT) *Important information: Please let us know if you have any pre-existing injuries or illnesses which you are currently seeking, or have sought, medical treatment for which you think may impact your ability to volunteer. Responsibilities
Volunteers will support therapy teams and participants in an engaging, goal-oriented environment. They will assist with activity setup and provide one-on-one support to children and teens during therapy sessions.
