    Volunteer Drivers - Home Delivered Meals   Kenneth Young Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services to individuals of all walks of life. Located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, we offer a wide range of services including outpatient therapeutic care, recovery-oriented support, community prevention, LGBTQ+ outreach, older adult services, and crisis intervention. Join our team to grow in your career while building stronger, healthier communities.      Volunteer Description:  Home Delivered Meals is a program based out of KYC'S Elk Grove Village location, service the surrounding suburbs. Drivers will assist in the pick up and delivery of meals, conduct friendly drop-offs of meals with seniors, and communicate with the Home Delivered Meals coordinator to ensure a positive and successful experience.  Responsibilities: * Deliver meals using personal vehicle to local seniors within the Northwest Suburbs  * Collect meals from dispatcher  * Conduct quick assessments of seniors, communicate any updates / changes to Older Adult staff Requirements:  * Must be 18 years old or above * Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle * Must pass a background check * Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 25lbs  Schedule:  * HDM drivers can choose to work a single shift weekly, biweekly, or multiple shifts if requested from the days listed below:  * Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 9:00am-12:00pm.  * HDM drivers can choose from a variety of schedules and locations, including Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg, Roselle, Mount Prospect, and Arlington Heights.  * Additionally, drivers can opt to become "substitute" drivers, meaning they can occasionally pick up shifts on an as-needed basis.      (Please note, this is an unpaid position.)
Responsibilities
Volunteer drivers are responsible for picking up meals from a dispatcher and delivering them to seniors in the Northwest Suburbs. They must also conduct quick assessments of the seniors and communicate any updates to the staff.
