Description

MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE TO SOMEONE’S LIFE — BECOME A VOLUNTEER BEFRIENDER TODAY

Are you a great listener, someone who enjoys connecting with others, and want to give back to your community?
We’re looking for kind and compassionate people to join our Norfolk Befriending Service as volunteers. This is a flexible, rewarding, and impactful opportunity to support unpaid carers – people who look after loved ones and often feel isolated and overwhelmed.
By giving just a little of your time, you can help someone feel seen, supported, and less alone. Whether it’s having a friendly chat, going for a walk, or simply sharing a cuppa – your presence can mean the world.
* Flexible to suit your availability
* Opportunities available across Norfolk
* Training, support and expenses provided

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We’d like you to have:

  • A desire to make a difference to people’s lives.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Good listening and conversation skills.
  • An ability to demonstrate patience and sensitivity.
  • Approachable and non-judgemental.
  • The ability to work alone, and as part of a wider team.

We’d like you to be:

  • Enthusiastic.
  • Friendly and enjoy meeting and supporting people.
  • Reliable, committed, and trustworthy.
  • Understanding and respectful.
