Volunteer Description: Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. Gift Shop Volunteers work at the direction of the Gift Shop Manager to assist guests and caregivers with gift items for patients and their families. PLEASE ONLY APPLY TO THIS POSITION IF YOU INTEND TO VOLUNTEER IN THE GIFT SHOP! Current shift needs are as follows: Tuesday: 4pm-7pm Wednesday: 9am-12:30pm Thursday: 9am-1230pm and 4pm-7pm Friday: 9am-12:30pm and 4pm-7pm Saturday 3pm-7pm Come and work in our incredible Gift Shop in the Lobby of Primary Children’s Hospital! We have a gorgeous space that is filled with only the best things that bring happiness and joy to our patients and our caregivers! The Gift Shop is a haven for our visitors to escape to. We play a large role in the healing culture at Primary Children’s, and we would love to have you come and play with us! Job description: Volunteers will follow the instructions of the Gift Shop Manager and volunteer office staff to assist with different job duties in the Gift Shop. Volunteer activities may include the following: o Greet patients and family entering the Gift Shop. o Assist with receiving product and product display. o Cash handling/Operate Cash Register. o Answer phones and take orders for Gifts to be delivered to patients o Organize, clean, and make the shop attractive. o Interact with staff, patients, and patient families through Gift choices and delivering Gifts to patient rooms. Expectations: o Be at least 16 years old. o Moderate lifting/carrying/pushing o Be able to commit to 6 months of volunteering once a week for three hours. o Able to follow and execute instructions o Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. o Able to work with children in varying age groups o Able to work well with diverse populations o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. o Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics o Maintain and respect professional relationships PLEASE ONLY APPLY TO THIS POSITION IF YOU INTEND TO VOLUNTEER IN THE GIFT SHOP!
