Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Secretary to join our friendly community team. This is a flexible, home-based role with occasional in-person meetings. It’s ideal for someone who wants to develop their skills, contribute ideas, and make a positive impact in their local community.
As Secretary, you’ll be the key link in keeping our group running smoothly, from handling admin to helping shape new initiatives.

Duties

  • Take and share clear, concise minutes at meetings (don’t worry, we keep them short and sweet!).
  • Keep records and files organised so the team can find what they need.
  • Help manage group correspondence (emails mainly, and the odd phone call).
  • Use Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) for documents and record-keeping.
  • Support with planning community events and activities.
  • Bring fresh ideas to the table and help improve how we do things.
  • Work closely with the Chair and Committee to keep things moving forward.

Qualifications / Skills

  • No formal qualifications required – enthusiasm matters most!
  • Previous admin or secretary experience is helpful but not essential.
  • Comfortable using a computer (Google Docs, email, etc.).
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, reliable, and willing to learn.
  • A team player who enjoys being part of the community.

Why Join Us?

  • Flexible, home-based volunteering with occasional meet-ups.
  • Great way to boost your skills and experience.
  • Be part of a supportive, fun, and community-focused team.
  • Make a real difference locally while meeting new people.
