About Proximity Foundation Proximity Foundation runs structured coding education programs for young people aged 14-18 at Community Care Institutions (CCIs). Using a computer-based LMS curriculum covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, we pair students with volunteer mentors in cohort-based sessions designed to build real technical skills and lasting confidence. We are scaling from the first cohort to many cohorts within Mumbai and building the operational team that will carry this program forward. Every role in Proximity Foundation is a direct investment in the young people we serve. Role Type : Volunteer Time Commitment : 2-3 hrs/week Department : Outreach & Content Reports to : Communication & Outreach Lead ROLE FOCUS Identify, reach out to, and screen prospective volunteers for all open roles — with urgent focus on session mentors and backup pool members for next planned Cohorts. Manage the volunteer pipeline from first contact through to onboarding handover. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Identify and reach out to prospective volunteers across all open roles Source mentor candidates through LinkedIn, universities, and community networks Screen and interview candidates to match them to suitable roles Coordinate volunteer onboarding with the Program Coordinator Lead Maintain a live volunteer pipeline tracker Support volunteer retention and engagement efforts WHAT A TYPICAL WEEK LOOKS LIKE You'll spend your week searching for candidates, sending outreach, following up, and doing quick screening calls. You'll hand warm candidates to the Program Coordinator for onboarding. Highly autonomous work.
