Are you kind and compassionate individual who is looking to volunteer your time to help others? If so, apply to become a Wayfinder/Guide Volunteer today at Chadron Hospital! As a Wayfinder/Guide, you will provide personalized service to patients and the hospital staff by escorting patients and visitors throughout the hospital. Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday, between 6:45am-5:00pm. Flexible scheduling available. Generally volunteers serve a regular schedule, once every-other week, on the same day of the week. Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Escort patients as requested during admission and dismissal. 2. Greet people and offer assistance and information. 3. Assist patients to find their way from one department appointment to the next. 4. Provide accurate directions to offices and departments throughout the Hospital. 5. Understand that volunteer service starts and ends within Chadron Hospital doors. QUALIFICATIONS: Must display kindness and compassion. Must demonstrate good communication skills and converse in a friendly, pleasant manner. Must be able to walk well for long distances and lengthy amounts of time. Must maintain a high regard for confidentiality as an ethical and legal obligation. Must be trained in wheelchair operation. Must be willing to take necessary training and participate in meetings as called. Must wear the volunteer uniform and name tag when on duty, attending meetings or representing the hospital. All volunteers must complete a background, provide immunization records, and participate in a required orientation, which includes education on Chadron Hospital policies that include confidentiality, standards of behavior, code of conduct, and HIPAA. Volunteers must also complete required annual training.
Responsibilities
Provide personalized service by greeting and escorting patients and visitors to various departments within the hospital. Offer accurate directions and assistance to ensure a positive experience for community members.
