WSL of Farmington is a community consisting of independent living apartments, assisted living and specialized memory care located in Farmington, Maine. We are part of Woodlands Senior Living, winner of the 2018 Maine Family Business of the Year award. Our purpose and promise is to provide superior, individualized care to seniors including those with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments. Reasons to be a Senior Living Volunteer: · Make a meaningful difference by building supportive friendships with residents · Give back to the community by providing an invaluable service · Gain valuable experience to strengthen skills for the workplace What Senior Living volunteers do: · Visit and talk with residents · Assist during activities such as arts & crafts and games · Deliver mail and write letters for residents · Accompany residents on outings or walks around the premises · Deliver meals or snacks · Greet community visitors Requirements Volunteer applicants will be screened via background & reference checks and will be required to comply with immunization requirements. Volunteers will participate in an orientation program and in-service training. *Required vaccinations include: MMR, Varicella, Seasonal Influenza
Responsibilities
Volunteers will engage with residents by visiting, talking, assisting during activities like arts and crafts and games, and helping with tasks such as mail delivery and meal delivery. They may also accompany residents on outings or walks around the facility.
