THE DETAILS:

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President, Individual Large Account Pricing Actuary with expertise in healthcare risks, including Allied Health, Managed Care, and Hospitals. This role is responsible for developing and implementing innovative pricing strategies for our most complex individually underwritten accounts.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: (EXPERIENCE)

  • FCAS preferred; ACAS with relevant healthcare experience also welcome.
  • Actuarial experience typically gained over 10+ years including 5+ years in healthcare pricing, or equivalent combination of experience and expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to price and negotiate complex large account programs.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare insurance market dynamics.
  • Proven leadership in building tools, frameworks, and best practices for customized risk pricing.
  • Established record in building exposure-based raters coupled with loss sensitivity rating on both an empirical and stochastic basis.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with ability to explain actuarial concepts to executive, underwriting, and client audiences.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Lead actuarial pricing for large individual accounts with a primary focus on healthcare-related risks.
  • Develop bespoke pricing models and deal structures for healthcare segments, including: Allied Health Providers, Managed Care Organizations, and Hospital and Health Systems
  • Partner with underwriting, claims, finance, and external partners/clients to structure competitive and profitable programs.
  • Analyze and assess risk for captive, deductible/SIR, excess, and reinsurance arrangements.
  • Represent the actuarial function in key client and broker negotiations.
  • Deliver actuarial insights to executive leadership to inform product strategy and growth planning.
  • Monitor account-level and segment-level profitability and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Assist in mentoring a growing team of pricing actuaries and analysts.
  • Champion innovation through use of external data, technology, and advanced analytics.
