Job Summary The VP, Business Systems & Platform Strategy will lead the strategy, governance, and evolution of the Bank’s critical business technology platforms, including core processing, digital banking, treasury management, and commercial and retail lending systems. This role will serve as a strategic bridge between technology and operations ensuring strong business alignment, disciplined delivery, and consistent service performance across the enterprise. The role will also serve as the program leader for the Bank’s core conversion, driving cross-functional planning, risk management, operational readiness, and successful cutover with minimal disruption to customers or operations. This leader will build and manage a high-performing team of Business Systems subject matter experts (SMEs) aligned to specific platforms and operational domains. Platform Ownership & Business Systems Leadership Own the overall health, roadmap, and lifecycle management for enterprise business platforms supporting retail, commercial, treasury, and lending operations. Establish and mature platform governance, standards, and operating rhythms including demand intake, prioritization, release management, and change control. Partner with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, data, and vendor management teams to ensure secure, resilient, and compliant platforms. Drive platform optimization and modernization through rationalization of tools, workflows, integrations, and vendor contracts. Lead the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of operational workflows across banking functions to reduce friction, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience. Stakeholder Partnership & Operational Enablement Serve as the senior business-systems liaison to operational executives and functional leaders across Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, Loan Operations, Deposit Operations, Finance, and Compliance. Translate business strategy into actionable platform roadmaps and delivery plans, ensuring requirements are clear, prioritized, and traceable. Foster a culture of proactive issue management, transparency, and collaboration between technology and operations. Ensure technology solutions are aligned with business processes, regulatory expectations, and customer experience objectives. Team Build-Out & Capability Development Build and lead a platform-aligned team of SMEs with focused expertise in Core, Digital, Treasury, Retail, and Loan systems. Define roles, competencies, performance expectations, and career paths; recruit, coach, and retain high-performing talent. Establish best practices for business analysis, configuration management, testing/UAT coordination, and post-release support. Create consistent frameworks for documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-team collaboration. Core Technology Stack Conversion Leadership Lead the end-to-end program to prepare for and execute a core conversion, including planning, resourcing, governance, and stakeholder alignment. Develop and execute conversion readiness plans spanning data, integrations, product configuration, interfaces, reporting, operational procedures, training, and change management. Coordinate with vendors, internal technology teams, and bank operations to manage cutover planning, runbooks, contingency plans, and post-conversion stabilization. Ensure risk, audit, compliance, and regulatory expectations are addressed throughout the program. Act as the senior accountable leader for day-to-day execution of the core conversion, partnering with the CIO and COO (executive sponsors) to coordinate workstreams across Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Data, and vendor partners. Delivery, Controls, and Operational Excellence Oversee demand intake, portfolio management, and delivery execution for initiatives spanning multiple platforms and business units. Ensure disciplined documentation, testing practices, change management, and production support processes. Define and monitor service KPIs/SLAs including system availability, incident trends, response times, release success rates, backlog health, and stakeholder satisfaction. Drive continuous improvement in systems reliability, user experience, workflow efficiency, and operational performance. Key Outcomes for Success Establish formal platform governance, demand intake, and release processes across all major banking systems. Build and stabilize a high-performing Business Systems team aligned to Core, Digital, Treasury, and Lending. Successfully plan and execute major phases of the core migration with minimal operational disruption. Improve system reliability, incident response times, and stakeholder satisfaction. Reduce technical debt and rationalize overlapping tools, workflows, and vendor contracts. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 10+ years in banking technology, business systems leadership, or platform/product management with increasing responsibility. Demonstrated leadership over enterprise platforms supporting banking operations (core and adjacent systems). Proven experience building and leading teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management. Strong vendor management experience with demonstrated ability to influence third-party delivery outcomes. Deep understanding of banking operations and cross-functional process design across retail, lending, treasury, and digital channels. Demonstrated ability to operate within highly regulated environments in partnership with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience leading a core conversion or major platform migration, especially within CSI and/or FIS environments. Familiarity with treasury management platforms, digital banking ecosystems, and commercial/retail lending platforms. Experience managing large-scale, multi-year transformation programs in financial services. Plus, the eligibility for a bonus. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
