JOB DESCRIPTION:
Shift: First Shift,Rotating
Southern Jersey Family Medical Centers, Inc. (SJFMC) is seeing a VP Chief Medical Officer tolead the overall clinical strategic vision for the organization, provides clinical direction to the provider staff, and is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and programs that support the mission and overall business strategy of the organization. In consort with the clinical team, assists in the development and implementation of the strategic and operational plans for SJFMC clinical programs.
- Develops, implements and evaluates clinical practice protocols, policies and procedures, that conform with the standards of care for all provider services
- Leads and implements the clinical direction for the organization; plans, organizes and directs all medical, dental services, behavioral health, and pharmacy services for the organization
- Responsible for the oversight, facilitation, and monitoring of the Quality Assurance/Improvement Plan to ensure health center is engaged and constantly improving quality and working towards meeting the goals established by HRSA, 3rd party insurers, other public health entities, and/or internally.
- Facilitates communication between the provider staff and administration
- Participates in senior management business and clinical strategy development and implementation
- Oversees current, and develops additional partnerships with medical schools and residency programs
- Acts as a direct supervisor to nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Builds and leverages cross-functional collaborative relationships to achieve organizational objectives
- Defines the roles of provider department directors and ensures provider staff development plans and programs are implemented and maintained
- Supports a variety of functions to including physician education, recruitment and engagement strategies, physician relations, care planning and documentation, and performance guidelines
- Provides direct care to patients in SJFMC centers in accordance with the job description for Staff Physician
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Hours: We offer flexible schedules with general daytime hours Monday - Friday, up to 2 evenings per week.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Demonstrated achievement in quality improvement development and motivation of leadership in medical staff; demonstrated abilities in strategic planning, budgeting, management and goal setting
- Current knowledge and understanding of issues related to health centers, regulatory standards and healthcare laws and regulations
- Ability to work effectively at the highest levels of clinical and business environments
- Superior interpersonal skills, communications skills and financial aptitude
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- MD/DO Board Certified, in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, with active, unrestricted NJ license, and other credentialing requirements as specified by regulation or SJFMC policy
- Advanced training or equivalent experience in medical management, healthcare law or quality improvement; coursework in physician executive leadership and management training (MBA or MHA) is strongly preferred
- Substantial clinical experience in a primary care setting is strongly preferred
