Description
We are seeking a VP – Coverage Relationship & Trade Sales Manager to drive business development, client acquisition, and trade finance sales across key target markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating and managing relationships with financial institutions, increasing facility utilisation, driving revenue growth, and supporting the expansion of the firm's trade finance platform. Key Responsibilities Originate and onboard new financial institution clients across assigned markets. Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions. Drive trade finance and liquidity solution sales to achieve revenue and utilisation targets. Manage the full client lifecycle from prospecting through onboarding and activation. Coordinate KYC, AML, compliance, and credit documentation requirements. Support commercial negotiations and facility structuring discussions. Monitor portfolio utilisation, transaction volumes, and client activity. Work closely with internal stakeholders including Credit, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and Finance. Provide market intelligence, competitor analysis, and business development insights. Deliver against individual and team KPIs relating to revenue, client acquisition, and portfolio growth. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. 5-10+ years of experience within Trade Finance, Financial Institutions Coverage, Transaction Banking, Correspondent Banking, or Structured Trade Finance. Strong understanding of trade finance products including Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), and liquidity solutions. Proven track record of business development, relationship management, and revenue generation. Experience working with financial institutions across Africa is highly preferred. Strong commercial acumen and client-facing capabilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
