As the VP of Data Engineering, you will lead the enterprise-wide data strategy, driving the design, operation, and evolution of modern data platforms and pipelines. You will ensure secure, scalable, and cost-efficient architectures that enable analytics, AI/ML, and data governance across the organization. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and executive leadership to partner with business leaders, influence strategic initiatives, and translate complex data capabilities into measurable business value. Accountabilities Define and execute the enterprise data engineering strategy, aligned with business priorities and digital transformation initiatives. Oversee design, development, and operation of cloud-native data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/Azure/GCP) and data integration frameworks. Drive engineering excellence in pipelines, APIs, streaming/real-time data, master data integration, and metadata management. Ensure platforms are optimized for performance, security, scalability, and cost efficiency, implementing FinOps best practices. Partner with governance and stewardship teams to maintain data quality, lineage, and regulatory compliance. Provide tools and frameworks to enable analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML initiatives. Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, translating data engineering investments into measurable outcomes. Lead, mentor, and inspire a global team of data engineers, architects, and platform specialists, fostering accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 15+ years of progressive leadership in data engineering, integration, or platform delivery, with 7+ years in senior director or executive roles. Proven track record delivering and scaling enterprise data platforms in global, cloud-native environments. Demonstrated expertise in building data pipelines, real-time/streaming architectures, and large-scale integration frameworks. Strong grounding in data governance, master/reference data, and regulatory compliance in complex industries. Exceptional leadership and team development skills, with experience managing distributed engineering teams.
