EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, commerce, economics or business administration.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in accounting, auditing, financial planning and financial reporting, with at least 5 years at the VP or Director level.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing.
  • Managing rapid growth and change is key to this role. You have previous experience planning, building and managing the finance function to support and scale company growth from the $50M to $100+M range.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be a key asset.
  • Integrating and optimizing Tier 1 or 2 ERP systems (ideally Epicor) with other business systems (HRIS, LMS, Supply Chain etc.).
  • Direct manufacturing experience improving margin, CAPEX and OPEX budgeting.
  • Experience with fundraising, equity/debt financing, and managing strategic partners.
  • Highly organized, strategic thinker, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent software skills (Power BI, Excel etc.).

We are looking for a Vice President of Finance to be a member of our senior leadership team and oversee the financial management of our business and develop the foundation for Oxygen8’s continued rapid and profitable growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, motivate and manage the finance and accounting team fostering a culture of collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the financial month-end and year-end closes and assist with reconciliations when needed.
  • Manage the year-end audit and Canadian/US tax returns.
  • Work with the CEO on strategy, business case analysis, equity financings, debt facilities and government funding opportunities.
  • Provide the management team and the board of directors with the financial reporting and tracking of company Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and KPI dashboards.
  • Prepare quarterly board meeting presentations and investor updates.
  • Drive business process and ERP system improvement initiatives to increase our efficiencies, capacity, margins and profitability.
  • Manage relationships with our bank, auditors, tax and legal partners.
  • Oversee the payroll function and collaborate with the People & Culture team on the HRIS / Payroll system development.
  • Prepare the annual financial budget and maintain the rolling three-year financial forecast.
