Description

SUMMARY

The VP, Finance is responsible for directing all areas of finance, accounting, budget management, financial reporting, revenue cycle, billing and investment management for Planned Parenthood Southeast (PPSE). The VP, Finance is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the organization and assessing future needs and impacts, including anticipating external changes that could impact financial performance and implementing changes that will assure sustainability. In close cooperation with the CEO, the Board’s Budget and Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors, this position ensures that appropriate financial policies are in place to guide the affiliate’s reporting and financial decision-making.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred OR Equivalent experience
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in financial leadership roles, with a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting
  • Experience in a non-profit or healthcare environment is highly desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to Planned Parenthood Southeast’s mission and values
Responsibilities

CONTROLLER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GAAP
  • Oversee cash flow management and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and financial stability
  • Direct and supervise the finance team, including accounting, accounts payable, and payroll functions
