We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on VP Global Presales to lead our pre-sales engineering team, drive technical sales strategy, and elevate our engagement with enterprise and MSP customers. This role is critical in shaping Avantra’s go-to-market approach by aligning our technical capabilities with customer needs, ensuring smooth adoption, and accelerating deal closures. We are looking for someone who can take prospective customers on a journey - sharing our customer stories and bringing the Avantra experience to life.

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical sales leadership.
  • Proven track record in the SAP ecosystem (SAP monitoring, automation, or cloud/SAP S/4HANA).
  • Experience selling B2B enterprise software, SaaS, or AIOps solutions.Prior leadership experience in building and scaling pre-sales teams.

TECHNICAL & BUSINESS SKILLS

  • Deep knowledge of SAP basis, operations, and automation trends.
  • Strong expertise in AIOps, observability, or cloud/SAP infrastructure is a plus.
  • Ability to craft compelling technical narratives and business cases for executives.
  • Experience with complex sales cycles and working closely with enterprise customers.

SOFT SKILLS & LEADERSHIP

  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong customer empathy with a focus on problem-solving and consultative selling.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse pre-sales performance and optimise strategies.
  • Business level fluency in German and English (Bilingual proficiency)

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a presales strategy aligned with Avantra’s growth objectives.
  • Build, mentor,nurture and lead a high-performing pre-sales engineering team.
  • Define best practices, processes, and KPIs to improve win rates and sales efficiency.
  • Partner with the CSO, Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to refine messaging, positioning, and technical sales enablement.

Sales Support & Customer Engagement

  • Act as the trusted advisor to enterprise customers, translating their challenges into Avantra’s solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery, demonstrations, proof of concepts (PoCs), and value assessments.
  • Drive technical differentiation in competitive deals by articulating Avantra’s unique value proposition.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to accelerate deal cycles and increase conversion rates.

Product & Market Alignment

  • Work closely with the Product & Engineering teams to provide feedback and influence roadmap development.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, SAP technologies, and customer pain points to refine our solution’s positioning.
  • Support strategic partnerships and alliances with key industry players.

Enablement & Thought Leadership

  • Develop training programs and sales assets to upskill internal teams and partners.
  • Represent Avantra at industry events, webinars, and customer engagements to drive awareness and credibility.
  • Advocate for the adoption of AIOps and automation solutions within the SAP ecosystem.
