Description
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Global Quality Assurance to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive quality and compliance framework across our portfolio of foodservice products—both manufactured in-house and sourced globally. This role will be responsible for building and overseeing a global quality organization, including Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, Inbound Inspection, Field Quality, and Regulatory Compliance. This position is critical in driving product excellence, customer satisfaction, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across an $800M organization serving leading restaurant chains and foodservice distributors. Key Responsibilities: Quality Strategy & Leadership: * Develop and implement a global quality vision and operating model that ensures consistent product performance and supports business growth. * Build and lead a quality organization that includes Manufacturing Quality, Sourcing Quality, Inbound Inspections, and Field Quality. * Establish and monitor quality performance metrics and dashboards to drive accountability and visibility across the organization. Manufacturing & Supplier Quality: * Set standards and drive execution of inspection protocols, test procedures, and in-process controls for internally manufactured products. * Lead global supplier quality programs, including vendor audits, scorecards, corrective action processes, and ongoing performance monitoring. * Partner closely with Procurement and Sourcing to ensure product quality and reliability from overseas partners, especially in China. Inbound & Field Quality: * Oversee inbound inspection procedures and teams, ensuring that all sourced goods meet internal and customer specifications. * Analyze warranty data, customer complaints, and field returns to identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). * Serve as a quality escalation point for major field or customer issues and lead cross-functional resolution efforts. Regulatory Compliance: * Own company-wide compliance with applicable regulatory standards, including NSF, UL, FDA, and other relevant foodservice product certifications. * Ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. and international product safety regulations, labeling requirements, and import/export standards. * Lead compliance audits and documentation readiness for internal and external stakeholders. * Proactively monitor regulatory changes and guide the organization in adapting processes and documentation accordingly. Culture of Quality & Improvement: * Champion a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization. * Promote the adoption of Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce cost of poor quality. * Drive training and development for quality and cross-functional teams to reinforce quality ownership and operational discipline. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred). * 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Compliance, ideally in manufacturing and global sourcing environments. * Deep knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), regulatory requirements (e.g., NSF, UL, FDA), and global supplier management. * Demonstrated ability to build and lead cross-functional teams and drive measurable business impact. * Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Travel Required: * Up to 25% travel may be required, with periods during the year in which this could be more.
