TO QUALIFY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY YOU POSSESS:

  • Minimum 5 years Senior leadership experience required.
  • CFP &/or CPA designation (both highly desired)
  • 10+ years working experience in the Wealth, Financial and/or Tax Planning industry
  • Good understanding of business functions (Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Insurance, Tax)
  • Demonstrable ability and proven track record in strategy-building & implementation aligned with an enterprise vision.
  • Excel at fostering strong business partnerships internally and in the market, including industry associations and third parties.
  • Sales leadership and proven track record for growth
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Excellent organizational and collaborative skills
  • Excellent and impactful written and oral skills, including the ability to make persuasive presentations, effectively negotiate, navigate conflict, and rapidly weigh all opinions to determine the best-fit approach.
  • Coaching and mentoring mindset with a demonstrated ability to teach and translate all aspects of financial planning, insurance operations and client-oriented solutions.
  • French / English bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • Degree in Business Management or relevant field
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

HOW DOES THE ROLE IMPACT THE ORGANIZATION?

The Head of Wealth Planning & Tax Consulting is key member of the Wealth Solutions leadership team. This role is responsible for the leadership and execution of key strategic priorities focused on the delivery of financial planning and tax consultancy solutions with RJL. Our teams provide support and solutions to our 500 plus Advisory Teams in delivering an exceptional total wealth management solution to their clients.

WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Leads, coordinates and provides oversight to the Wealth Planning Solutions and Tax Consulting Solutions teams to ensure the successful achievement of regional and national goals and service excellence.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of the business unit’s strategic plan related to the growth of our people, products and service delivery within RJL.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of our Wealth Solutions team, Branch Managers and Financial Planning practitioners to deliver best in class service to support our clients, internal partners, and stakeholders.
  • Develops and leads key initiatives focused on our firm’s ability to deliver best in class financial planning services and deliverables.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual team budget plans.
  • Builds strategic relationships with our Senior Leadership team, RJ advisors, Branch Managers & COIs to support the goals and objectives of the business units.
  • Provides coaching and leadership to the team of wealth specialists to support their career development goals and objectives.
  • Oversee development of new operations procedures and enhances existing processes to enhance service delivery, advisory and client experience.
  • Ensure the successful and timely achievement of key initiatives including projects focused on our planning software, resources and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local, regional, provincial, and national regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of industry practices and trends and internal policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with compliance, operations, legal and other related lines of business to resolve system, administrative, risk management and legal issues pertaining to the onboarding on new business; and
  • Recognize when the business risk identified may require external legal counsel and promptly escalate the matter up to SVP Wealth Solutions
