Responsibilities

WHAT IMPACT CAN YOU MAKE IN THIS ROLE?

As a Vice President in our Infrastructure team, you will play a key role in growing the infrastructure business in the Asia Pacific region. Your contributions will be vital in developing the pipeline of investments and managing a diverse portfolio of assets. You will also have the opportunity to influence investment decisions and asset management strategies, ensuring alignment with GIC’s investment philosophy.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THE ROLE?

  • Be part of the Infrastructure Asia & Emerging Markets team, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, Asia & Emerging Markets
  • Take charge of the full deal lifecycle: originating and executing investment opportunities; facilitating collaboration within the deal team for effective execution; managing liaison with external advisors
  • Play a key role in deal appraisal, financial review, negotiating transaction documentation, and presenting investment decisions to the Investment Committee regularly
  • Actively engage in asset management, reporting on investment progress, and potentially sitting on the boards of investee businesses
  • Utilize high levels of commercial experience and investment judgment to efficiently select and progress attractive investment opportunities
  • Manage negotiations, deal structuring, pricing, due diligence processes, and legal closings
  • Generate deals by building relationships with a wide variety of internal and external counterparties
  • Develop a broad network of contacts across the Asia Pacific infrastructure market
  • Participate in special projects within the firm as assigned
  • Assist in the development of team members

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS IN THIS ROLE?

  • Ideally, at least 8 years of experience in the infrastructure or infrastructure-related sectors in Asia Pacific, with a strong deal track record. Buyside experience is viewed favorably
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written) is essential; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a hands-on attitude toward deal execution
  • A team player who is flexible, able to roll up their sleeves and dive into the details to complete tasks in a timely manner, while effectively managing and leading situations and different stakeholders
  • Ability to drive performance through managing teams for deal execution
  • Innovative in origination, patient and practical in execution, and resilient in positively bouncing back from setbacks
  • Excellent financial modeling, PowerPoint, and writing skills
