We are seeking a smart, dynamic, and ambitious VP, Legal Counsel to lead Celtra’s Legal function from our New York City office. Reporting to our Co-Founder & CFO and partnering closely with our Founder & CEO, this role requires a highly collaborative legal business partner who is comfortable advising and influencing pivotal legal and commercial decisions that will shape the future of the company.
As Celtra’s senior legal leader, sitting on the Executive team, this individual will have full ownership of all contractual matters, while also overseeing intellectual property, privacy, compliance, employment, and corporate initiatives across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Celtra’s senior legal leader across all commercial, product, corporate, and privacy matters
  • Architect scalable legal processes that support growth, improve execution, and protect the business
  • Advise Founders and Executives as a trusted strategic partner, connecting legal risk to business strategy
  • Lead all negotiation and execution of enterprise customer, partnership, and vendor contracts (MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, NDAs, etc.)
  • Join forces with Sales leadership to move deals quickly through enterprise procurement processes
  • Own privacy and compliance programs, including data mapping, privacy by design, privacy impact assessments, incident response, third-party vendor management, and related policies and trainings concerning data privacy under the GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations
  • Oversee third-party information security audits (SOC2), security questionnaires and compliance responses for enterprise RFPs, partnering tightly with Product, Engineering, and IT/Security teams
  • Champion documentation, policy management, and education across the organization
  • Actively collaborate with Product, Technology, Finance, and HR teams to provide proactive, actionable legal guidance
  • Support M&A, corporate development, fundraising, and governance initiatives
  • Manage outside counsel relationships
