Description Position Summary: The Vice President of Lending is a senior-level contributor responsible for originating, underwriting, and managing a diverse loan portfolio across commercial, consumer, and mortgage segments. This role plays a strategic part in driving loan growth, maintaining credit quality, and supporting the banks overall lending strategy. VP Lending collaborates with senior leadership to ensure alignment with regulatory standards, risk appetite, and market expansion goals. The position also contributes to the development of credit culture, policy adherence, and talent development within the lending department Major Duties & Accountabilities: Embrace and promote the Legacy Culture by delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Interview and work with loan applicants to originate loans that are profitable, within the banks defined market area, and conform to policy and desired loan types. Demonstrate expertise in financial underwriting, loan structuring, collateral analysis, and security perfection across all loan types. Underwrite and service loans and loan relationships up to $3.0MM. Manage and service assigned loan portfolio up to $50MM, ensuring performance metrics are met. Actively pursue new loan opportunities through calling efforts, networking, and other business development initiatives. Maintain established performance goals including past due percentages, technical exception percentages, and portfolio growth targets. Attend and contribute to Lending Staff meetings. Present loans at Senior Loan Committee and Directors Loan Committee as needed. Participate in strategic loan growth initiatives as directed by the EVP Chief Lending Officer. Collaborate with credit administration and loan operations to ensure efficient loan processing and servicing. Support regulatory and internal audit processes as needed. Mentor junior lenders and contribute to talent development within the department. Assist in the development and review of credit policies and procedures. Perform all other duties as assigned. Supervisory: This role could have direct reports. Requirements Required: Bachelors degree in a related field. Minimum of 7 years of lending experience; OR Minimum of 5 years of lending experience AND 2 years of experience managing or operating a business. Preferred: Experience in all three areas: commercial, consumer, and mortgage. Formal credit training (e.g., ABA, RMA, or equivalent). Experience with regulatory exams and compliance. Proven leadership in managing teams. Strong understanding of loan documentation, collateral perfection, and risk rating systems.
