VP OF COMMERCIAL RETAIL STORE OPERATIONS

Position title: Vice President of Commercial Retail Operations
Classification: Executive Leadership Staff
Supervised by: CEO
Supervises: Retail & E-Commerce Store Leadership Teams

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE:

  • Champion a customer-centric culture focused on delivering exceptional service and fostering long-term customer relationships.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the overall shopping experience, including merchandising, store layout, and product presentation.
  • Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

VENDOR AND SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of merchandise and supplies.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and contracts to optimize profitability and mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of broad retail/logistics & supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA a plus.
  • Proven history of success in senior retail operations leadership roles, preferably within the thrift store or resale industry.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with key supply chain/logistics processes, best practices, and implementing process improvements. Experience in 5S and LEAN disciplines required.
  • Excellent computer skills including experience utilizing multiple ERP & POS systems; also strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • A high sense of urgency & the ability to build & lead strong teams to achieve new levels of performance
  • Experience supporting and developing retail operations in emerging markets and expansion of territories.
  • Experience directing the operations in a multi-site supply chain system
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, sales reports, and KPIs to drive informed decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a demonstrated capacity to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and exceed expectations.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative strategies to drive business growth and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrates outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve organizational goals.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable results and driving continuous improvement.
