The VP of Finance & Accounting is a hands-on business partner to the Family office, the Founders and the leadership team, owning the financials of a growing, catering, regenerative farm-to-table and accommodations business which includes a foundation. This role blends strategic thinking with day-to-day execution—building systems, tightening controls, and helping the business scale. This is not a “sit in the office and review reports” role. The ideal candidate is comfortable jumping between big-picture strategy and the details of costs, labor, inventory, cash flow, and systems—often in the same day. Responsibilities Be a True Business Partner Act as a thought partner to the Founder/CEO on strategy, growth, and key decisions. Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance leaders. Help leadership understand what’s working, what’s not, and offer solutions. Own the Numbers Oversee all tax, accounting and finance functions across restaurants, catering, farms, foundation, farm store and related entities. Work with outside tax professional and provide the information needed to prepare related federal and state tax returns. Ensure accurate, timely financials that people will use. Build and manage budgets, forecasts and metrics that reflect the realities of the various businesses. Create simple, meaningful dashboards and KPIs. Drive Margin and Discipline Get deep into costs and margins. Partner closely with culinary, operations, and farm teams to improve margins without compromising quality or values. Design practical controls that support growth instead of slowing it down Build Scalable Systems Evaluate and implement accounting and reporting systems as the business grows. Clean up processes and create simple structure where needed. Maintain and improve multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and consolidated reporting. Lead and Grow the Team Build, mentor, and lead a small but efficient finance and accounting team. Coach non-finance leaders on financial literacy and accountability. Create a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement. Personal attributes An experienced finance leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree - Accounting, Finance or related field. 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience. Experience in hospitality, food & beverage, catering, agriculture, or related industries. Experience with family office a plus. Experience with partnerships a plus. Experience scaling a business and improving systems. Experience with Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) a plus but not required. CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus but not required. Reports To: Co-founder / CEO Location: Person needs to reside within a 45 minute commute to Yamhill County, Oregon.
