Description
Role Overview We are seeking a proactive and strategic VP of IT & IS to lead our technology operations, drive our Business Applications strategy, and serve as "Customer Zero" for Atera's Autopilot. This role is not just about "keeping the lights on"; it is a business-enabling position. You will bridge the gap between infrastructure and business strategy while actively shaping our own product through rigorous internal use, feedback loops, and public advocacy. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary internal champion for Atera Autopilot, utilizing it extensively within IT operations to achieve best-in-class service metrics and efficiency. Establish a direct feedback loop with Product and R&D teams, providing critical insights, feature requests, and use-case data to refine the roadmap. Serve as an internal and external advocate for Autopilot, showcasing its capabilities and impact on IT efficiency through real-world examples and case studies. Translate corporate strategy into a scalable IT and IS roadmap that directly supports revenue growth and operational efficiency. Leverage operational data and business intelligence to drive IT strategy, optimize resource allocation, and measure the ROI of technology investments. Lead the adoption of AI tools and process automation to modernize workflows and enhance decision-making capabilities across the organization. Manage the entire lifecycle of core business platforms, ensuring data integrity and seamless cross-system integration to support business flows. Partner with department heads (Sales, Finance, HR) to analyze workflows and implement IS solutions that streamline operations. Identify friction points in business processes and proactively deploy technology solutions to eliminate them before they become blockers. Oversee the IT support function, network infrastructure, and cloud environments, ensuring 99.9% uptime and high user satisfaction. Maintain a robust cybersecurity posture and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (GDPR, SOC2, ISO, etc.). Manage the IT/IS budget, optimizing spend on SaaS licenses and hardware while negotiating high-value vendor contracts. The Ideal Candidate Experience "dogfooding" internal tools or working closely with product teams to improve software quality. Proven track record managing both traditional IT Infrastructure and Business Applications (IS/BA). You speak "server" and "business process" fluently. Demonstrated experience introducing AI-driven tools or automation to solve actual business problems. Capable of presenting to the Board for one hour and diving into an architecture diagram the next. Requirements 10+ years of experience in IT, Information Systems, or Information Security, with a strong background in infrastructure and business applications. 5+ years of leadership experience managing IT/IS teams and cross-organizational initiatives. Hands-on experience with enterprise IT infrastructure, including cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), networking, identity management, and endpoint management. Experience managing business applications ecosystems (e.g., CRM, ERP, HRIS, finance, support systems) and system integrations. Strong understanding of IT operations and ITSM practices, including incident management and service performance metrics. Experience in SaaS environments, including vendor management and license optimization. Familiarity with automation and integration tools (e.g., Workato, Zapier, n8n, APIs). Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, IAM, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR). Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with executives and cross-functional teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. About Atera null
